Spinning Exotics
Do you drool at the thought of downy yak or baby camel?  Can't wait to get your hands on an alpaca fleece?  In
this class we'll try a variety of the more exotic fibers and learn how to spin them to their best advantage.  Students
need to know the basics of spinning.  Students will need to bring their own wheels or reserve a shop wheel in
advance.  All fibers will be provided.   Taught by Jennifer Schermehorn

Beginning Tatting
Learn to create beautiful lace with the centuries old technique of shuttle tatting.  The intricate lace can be used
as edgings, embellishments and objects of art.  Students do not need to know how to knit or crochet.  All

Spin Techniques Workshop- Plying
Learn how to best ply your singles to make the yarn you desire.  This workshop will cover plying techniques
for worsted and woolen spun yarns, multi-plyed yarns, novelty plies, finishing, and more!  Students will need
to know the basics of spinning.  Students will need to bring there wheels or reserve a shop wheel in advance.

Dyeing for Yarn!
Are you a hand dyed yarn junkie?  Can't get enough color in your life?  Have you always wanted to learn how to
dye your own but unsure of how to start?  This Saturday workshop is for you!  Learn to microwave dye your
own yarns using safe and easy acid dyes. Each student will dye a lovely skein of sock yarn with the help and
guidance of Deb Waggoner of Two Windows Dye Company.

Beginning Spinning
Learn the basics of spinning beginning with a drop spindle and progressing to the wheel. Also learn the basics of fiber
preparation. Everyone gets their own spindles to keep!  Taught as 2 two hour classes by Jennifer Schermerhorn.

Beginning Knitting
Learn to cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, simple button hole, and bind off.  You will make a small clutch bag for
makeup, notions, or whatever!  Students will need 100yds of a worsted weight yarn and US#8/5mm needles and a
button. Supplies can be bought at the first class (15% off) or brought with you.  Taught  as two, 2 hour classes by

draw techniques for spinning.   You will learn several different ways to draft your fibers, which preparations
work best ,and how to combine everything to make the yarn you want for your project.  Students will need to

reserve a shop wheel in advance.

Pick A Project
Pick a knitting or crochet pattern and work with it under the guidance of Stephanie Powers.  She will help you
figure out sizing, gauge, stitch pattern, and walk you through each step.  Perfect for the student who has
learned the basics, but is nervous about starting their first pattern on their own.  Taught as two, 2 hour classes
with the option to continue as needed.  Supplies bought at the shop receive a 15% discount.
